Levitt pavilions are locally programmed and managed by a local Friends of Levitt Pavilion nonprofit
organization. Each Levitt Pavilion has its own unique character and personality, as an integral part of the
specific community it represents. They are held together by their common purpose, mutual support, national
recognition, and the assistance they receive from the Mortimer Levitt Foundation and the national Levitt
Pavilions organization.
Levitt Pavilions is a national nonprofit organization that inspires and strengthens communities through live music experiences.
Central to Levitt Pavilions' mission is the creation, development and support of Levitt pavilions as community gathering spaces.
Levitt Pavilions helps cities nationwide establish and sustain their own pavilions and Levitt program, resulting in stronger,
healthier and more interconnected neighborhoods and communities.
Levitt pavilions are developed through private/public partnerships in collaboration with the host city through support from
public officials, business and community leaders, and people from throughout the community. Typically located in public parks,
each Levitt Pavilion is a publically owned facility, managed and programmed by a local Friends of Levitt Pavilion nonprofit
501(c)(3) organization. Through this innovative public/private structure, resources are leveraged to revitalize public spaces
and provide high quality arts programming accessible to all.
The creation, sustenance and success of each Levitt Pavilion arises from the close collaboration of the local Friends of Levitt,
local government, and the Mortimer Levitt Foundation together with the national Levitt Pavilions organization. The Mortimer
Levitt Foundation provides seed capital and capital improvement contributions for the local effort, as well as matching ongoing
operational funding for at least the first five years of operation. The Mortimer Levitt Foundation, in partnership with the
national Levitt Pavilions organization, provides best practices guidelines, support, and technical assistance to each Levitt
Pavilion, from the beginning of development through ongoing operations. The network of Levitt pavilions is a valuable support
system for each local pavilion providing opportunities for shared programming, resources and funding.
The Levitt program is capturing the attention of changemakers and inspiring leadership across America. Levitt Pavilions is in
active discussions with cities throughout the country, and encourages anyone interested in bringing this program to their
community to contact Levitt Pavilions at 310.275.5628.
The national Levitt program lifts the lives of hundreds of thousands, strengthens communities and delivers the promise of a
better tomorrow today. The results are transformative.
